In another significant victory over the LTTE terrorists in the Mannar front, the Sri Lanka Army captured the Adampan town area this morning (09), Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara says.
At least 15 terrorists were killed in several hours of fighting, the Media Center for National Security (MCNS) said.
Two army soldiers died in confrontations while seven suffered injures.
The Army liberated an area of about 2 square kilometers, between the Neelachcheana Road and the dam of the Adampan tank, in the South of Adampan town, following fighting last evening, Ministry of Defence said.
