No support to the government hereafter, says JVP
JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath said that the JVP would not support the government in future and it supported the government in the past to defeat the Vanni Tigers and not to suppress media and democracy.
Addressing a press conference held in Colombo Library and Documentation Service Center yesterday morning to comment on the dissolving of North Central and Sabaragamuwa Provincial Councils and about the aftermath of the Eastern Provincial Council election, MP Herath challenged the government to show cause, if there is any, for dissolving the Provincial Councils. He asked how security would be provided during an election in a time civilian defense is questionable and people are terrified in repeated bomb explosions in buses and trains.
MP Vijitha Herath said that military actions would be impeded due to deployment of police and Army for election duty.
